Witness the crowning of the Tongits champion in GTCC: Summer Showdown

This event adopts an innovative e-sports-style competition format, featuring multiple rounds designed to push participants to their limits.

 

GTCC Tournament format

 

With a total of 135 participants, the tournament begins by randomly dividing players into three equal groups of 45: A, B, and C.

 

This initial division ensures a fair and diverse starting point for all competitors.

 

The first phase of the tournament consists of three intense 20-round games.

 

GameZone online will rank players based on their cumulative points from these games.

 

with the top 84 performers advancing to the promotional round on the following day.

 

The promotional round introduces an interesting dynamic with upper and lower brackets.

 

The top 30 players from the previous round are placed in the upper bracket, while the remaining 54 compete in the lower bracket.

 

The 84 players are then randomly assigned to 19 groups, adding an element of unpredictability to the matchups.

 

The stakes are high in this round, as only 5 players from the upper bracket and 4 from the lower bracket will progress to the semi-finals, narrowing the field to just 9 competitors.

 

The semi-final stage intensifies the competition further. The 9 remaining players engage in a grueling 60-round game, pushing their skills and concentration to the limit.

 

The championship culminates in a thrilling showdown between the top three players.

 

These finalists will face off in an epic 100-round game, testing their stamina, strategy, and mental fortitude to the utmost.

 

Prizes for Tongits champion

At the pinnacle of this structure is the grand champion’s prize of ₱5,000,000, representing a staggering 50% of the total prize pool.

 

The second-place finisher receives a substantial ₱1,000,000, ensuring that the battle for the top two spots remains intensely competitive.

 

The ₱4,000,000 gap between first and second place adds an extra layer of excitement to the final showdown.

 

The third-place contestant doesn’t go home disappointed either, with a generous ₱488,000 prize. 

 

It highlights the tournament’s commitment to rewarding top-tier performances.

Semifinalists (4th to 9th place) each receive ₱168,000, acknowledging their impressive tournament run.

 

The tournament awards ₱98,000 to players finishing 10th to 18th and ₱70,000 to those placing 19th to 27th.

 

The tournament’s commitment to rewarding skill is evident even in the lower rankings.

 

Participants placing 24th to 37th earn ₱38,000 each, while those finishing 38th to 47th receive ₱27,900.

 

The prize structure reaches as far as the 63rd position, with players ranking 48th to 63rd receiving ₱9,000 each.
