As temperatures rise this summer, GameZone is turning up the heat with its latest high-stakes event — the GTCC: Summer Showdown.
Scheduled from June 24 to 28, this elite Tongits tournament will feature 135 of the top players from across the Philippines, all battling for a share of the huge prize pool.
The GameZone Tablegame Champions Cup is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling online card tournaments of the year.
How to Qualify: Your Road to GTCC Glory
Players eager to enter the GTCC must first prove their mettle in the Tongits Multi-Table Tournament, running from April 25 to May 16.
Open to all registered GameZone users, this online event is designed to be accessible for both veterans and newcomers.
Upon registration, participants receive free chips, creating a fair start for all players.
The competition is structured around daily events where participants can win cash rewards and leaderboard points.
In each match, these rounds test players’ strategy, adaptability, and nerves under pressure.
At the end of the competition, the ultimate goal is to earn a top spot on the leaderboard.
Then on May 27, the top 135 qualifiers will be officially announced, securing their slot in the prestigious main tournament.
GTCC Structure: Phases of Skill and Elimination
Group Stages and Elimination Rounds
The GTCC kicks off with 135 players split into three groups (A, B, and C) of 45 each.
In this elimination round, players face off in three 20-round games designed to separate the top talents from the rest.
After this phase, only 84 players will move forward.
Promotional Round
The remaining 84 players enter the promotional round, which includes two stages.
First, they are grouped into 28 smaller clusters.
Then, performance in this stage determines bracket placement: the top 30 players enter the upper bracket, while the remaining 54 players are placed in the lower bracket.
From both brackets, only nine players will move on to the semifinals — five from the upper bracket and four from the lower — ensuring the most consistent and versatile players make it to the next level.
Semifinals and the Final Showdown at GTCC
In the semifinal stage, the nine qualified players compete in a demanding 60-round match.
This round not only tests advanced strategies but also challenges the players’ endurance and mental strength.
Those who survive will then enter the final three, competing in a massive 100-round final battle — composed of the 60 semifinal rounds plus 40 additional rounds.
Ultimately, the ultimate Tongits champion will emerge from this intense finale, claiming a monumental ₱5,000,000 grand prize.
Meanwhile, runners-up will also take home substantial rewards: ₱1,000,000 for second place and ₱488,000 for third.
