Revisiting GTCC: The culmination of Tongits mastery

The GameZone Tablegame Champions Cup (GTCC), held from December 4 to 8 last year, was a prestigious event that brought together the crème de la crème of Tongits players.

This high-stakes tournament showcased the pinnacle of skill and strategy in the popular Filipino card game.

GameZone, the organizer, meticulously curated a list of elite participants through a series of rigorous qualifiers, including their own Tongits Free Bonanza event.

In addition to the top performers from these qualifiers, GameZone extended invitations to three Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the Tongits community.

Each group consisted of nine players, with eight selected through the rigorous qualification process and 1 KOL added.

Second, the inclusion of a KOL in each group added an element of unpredictability and star power.

The stakes were high, as only three coveted spots in the semifinals were available from each group.

Advancing to the semifinals was a crucial step towards the ultimate goal of reaching the finals and potentially being crowned the Tongits champion.

The rewards for elites

Speaking of rewards, the GameZone Tablegame Champions Cup (GTCC) offered an impressive prize pool.

The grand prize of ₱300,000 awaited the ultimate champion, a life-changing sum that could potentially transform the winner’s life.

The second-place finisher received a substantial ₱100,000, while the third-place contestant took home ₱60,000.
