How the competition transpired

 

The GameZone Tablegame Champions Cup (GTCC): Summer Showdown, held from June 11 to June 15.

 

The tournament kicked off on June 11 with the registration and opening ceremony.

 

The actual competition began on Day 2, marking the start of the Knockout Round.

 

At this stage, 93 qualified players competed.

 

But by the end of the day, nine were eliminated, leaving 84 to advance to the next round.

 

Day 3 introduced an exciting twist with the implementation of Upper and Lower Brackets.

 

Players were ranked based on their scores from the Knockout Round.

 

The top 30 players were placed in the Upper Bracket, while the remaining players were split into two Lower Brackets.

 

 

The semifinals took center stage on June 14, Day 4 of the competition.

 

In this round, the nine semifinals qualifiers battled it out for one of three coveted slots in the finals.

 

On the final day, June 15, the three finalists competed for the epic end of the GTCC clash epic end of the GTCC clash.

 

All eyes were on the intense finale as the players sought not only the crown but the reward that came with it.

 

The prizes of GTCC

 

The GTCC: Summer Showdown shelved out a staggering Php 10 million prize pool.

 

This is the highest so far in the tournament’s history and maybe eclipsed in the upcoming tournament.

 

Focusing back in the recent version of GTCC, it gave a life-changing grand prize for the ultimate champion of the tournament with Php 5 million.

 

On the other hand, the second placer’s effort will not go naught as they have received Php 1 million.

 

And lastly, wrapping up the finalist, a Php 488,000 will be awarded to the third placer.

Putting in faces of the winners of the competition, Benigno De Guzman Casayuran was hailed as the King of Tongits hailed as the King of Tongits.

 

He will allot his winnings to his wife’s chemotherapy and dreams to travel the country alongside her in the future.

 

Meanwhile, Ryan Dacalos, the second placer, will put his winnings to his children’s education and will try to establish a mini-store as a business.

 

Lastly, the third placer of the GTCC, Cesha Myed Tupas will budget the money to shed out loans.
