Looking back at the GTCC Summer Showdown

What transpired from June 11 to 15 was the biggest e-sport-style Tongits tournament in the country, with the Summer Showdown of the GameZone Tablegame Champions Cup (GTCC).

The Green Sun Hotel in Makati served as the sanctuary of the best of the best Tongits players in the Philippines.

Up for grabs in the 5-day tournament was a staggering 10 million prize pool.

Plus, the chance of conquering the Tongits trophy and being crowned as the ultimate GTCC winner.

How the GTCC transpired

Before the formal GTCC: Summer Showdown competition, the players are selected through the weekly leaderboard from April 25 to May 16 of the Tongits Free Multi-Table Tournament.

The Tongits MTT is an online tournament of GameZone, which is available every day with various prizes depending on the category.

Day 1 served as the registration and opening ceremony of the tournament.

But the next day served as the start of the tongits battle, with 93 players going into the knockout round to determine the 84 names that will advance into the promotional round on Day 3.

In this stage of competition, GameZone online introduced a twist by establishing an upper and lower bracket.

After the dissection, the 84 players will go against each other to identify the nine individuals who will be promoted to the Semifinals round.

The Final Day provides the supreme display of action with the Semis and Finals of the GTCC.

From the previously remaining 9 players, only 3 players will secure their spot in the finale.

They will clash for the last spot in contention for the grand prize of 5 million pesos.

The top 3 of the GTCC and prizes

With the initial list of 93 names, after countless rounds of the crop, only 3 remained to become a GTCC legend.

These are Benigno De Guzman Casayuran (62), Ryan Dacalos (38), and Cesha Myed Tupas (37).

They came from different origins, but what they have in common is the Tongits’ skills, motivation, and perseverance to crush their foe.

After the final round, Benigno claimed the throne of the GTCC champion and claimed the grand prize of 5 million pesos.

Meanwhile, Ryan Dacalos settled with 1 million as the 1st place or runner-up.

Closing in the top 3 is Cesha, who became 488,000 richer after clobbering in as the 2nd runner-up.

Game Zone online games does not guarantee winning and promotes responsible casino practices and safe play among its users.

Additionally, GameZone casino, alongside its partner brands, employs spending limits.

Once a player goes over and beyond their set limit, an alert will pop up on their device to inform them of spending.

Moreover, the platform also introduced responsible casino practices ambassadors.

They were former Tongits Champions Cup winners who were involved in online casinos.

They experience various circumstances in the industry that inspire players and mirror their status.
